About Us
SunSmile Farms is a 70-acre family farm located in Grass Valley, California. The farm was originally started in 1939 by Joel Bierwagen and is now owned and operated by Joel’s grand nephew, George Loftus. We take pride in producing high quality fruits and vegetables utilizing organic farming practices.
We offer a variety of wholesome and healthy fruits and vegetables. Our orchards produce wonderful cherries, peaches, apples, figs, nectarines, pears, Asian pears, plums, and pluots. We also grow a large variety of melons. Our berry patch includes blueberries, red raspberries, black raspberries, and blackberries. The gardens provide a vegetable selection including beans, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, summer squash, tomatoes (including a large selection of Heirloom tomatoes), and winter squash. We also have walnuts and chestnuts. And, to top it off, we offer honey, apple juice, and fresh cut flowers.
